I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for your support this year.

As we come to the end of the calendar year, it is a time to reflect on achievements and plan further improvements regarding the personal and academic progress of all our students.

The move to our splendid new building has improved the learning environment for all. We await the final additions to our landscaping in the spring but students have voiced their approval of the superior facilities.

The sustained focus on teaching and learning, the cultural curriculum, the extra-curricular opportunities and Personal Development and Well-being programme ensured a positive Ofsted outcome. This credited the school for its creativity, attention to detail for all students and ambition and aspiration for all. As the Lead HMI said, “This is truly an inclusive school”.

Looking forward to 2018, we are completing teaching programmes for students taking examinations in May and June, the Healthy Living for Life opportunities and ensuring all students have access to an exciting learning provision.

We could not do this without our supportive parents and carers who entrust their children to our care. Together we make a strong team in guiding our young people in making better decisions and preparing for adult life whilst enjoying the challenges of adolescence.

My very best wishes to all for not only the festive period, but also the year to come. We end this term at 14.30 on Wednesday 20 December and return at 8.20 on Monday 8 January 2018.

Ann Francis
