Message from the Academy Head
We are small enough to care but large enough to provide a broad and balanced education that allows students to take their place effectively in society.
- our latest Ofsted report from November 2017;
- student progress and flexible curriculum opportunities;
- superb facilities;
- excellent transition planning at all stages;
- leadership development through ‘Student Voice’, our student body;
- specific programmes to develop our more able students.
We start the 2018-9 timetable form 2 July when all students move to their next year group. During this time, we will welcome our new Year 6 students for a 3-day transition programme. Due to increased demand, 150 new students will join us in September.
Whilst our examination season is over, our focus, as always, continues to be on all levels of progress, be it academic, physical and emotional. Having had a most successful Super Learning Event on 13 June, we all look forward to Open Evening on Wednesday 20 September and Open Day on Saturday 22 September. If you have children in Years 5 or 6, please come and see not only what we offer but our innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Although I am leaving my post in August, I know it is a superb provision for students of all ages and abilities. The high standards of teaching from a skilled staff, their commitment and dedication are at the core of student success. All our staff work together to eliminate barriers to progress and students are appreciative of this approach.
I would like to express my personal gratitude to all past and current parents and carers for their support and partnership. I look forward to seeing this school succeed further, albeit from a distance
A good school with outstanding leadership and management
