Our School

The Catch-up Premium is an additional payment to the school to support students who need extra help catching up when they join us from primary school. 

The school receives extra money for every student coming into Year 7 who has not achieved their expected level in English and/or maths.

This is used to provide KS3 students with additional support in English and Maths, including:

  • Year 6 literacy and numeracy intervention
  • Achievement group (small intervention group) for core English, Maths and Science
  • Lexia – phonics intervention
  • Reading intervention programme
  • success@arithmetic
  • Accelerated Reader programme

By the end of year 7 the school target was to get 95% of the Emerging students to Evolving. 94% of those students progressed to Evolving.

By the end of year 7 the school target was to get 91% of the Emerging students to Evolving. 88% of those students progressed to Evolving.

32/55 received intervention to improve their Reading Age. 44% of students improved their reading age by 3mths – 3 years.

Impact is measured at the end of Year 7.
