Message from our Head of Academy

At Harrogate High School we provide dynamic, challenging and engaging learning opportunities in order to raise achievement and thereby improve our students’ life chances. We believe that high quality teaching, learning and leadership are fundamental to our success. By ‘embedding ambition’ in our students, we will enable our young people to lead a balanced life as adults, capable of contributing positively to their community.  Positive relationships are fundamental to our success. The generosity of staff and their willingness to work with and for students, adds to the positive and caring ethos that permeates the school. 

We are a school that values leadership, learning, pedagogy and curriculum innovation. Alongside our broad and balanced curriculum, we place great emphasis on providing a varied cultural curriculum, where students can experience a plethora of enrichment activities.

Harrogate High School has a nurturing and aspirational ethos, with students, parents and staff working effectively in partnership. Our Parents’ Forum meet with members of the Senior Leadership Team, staff and students each half term to discuss whole school matters and strategic developments.

We truly believe that young people can achieve whatever they set their minds to with the right support and guidance.  Our shared responsibility is to make sure that their ‘one chance’ of education is outstanding. We aim to develop our young people into confident, effective and responsible adults. We know that with excellent teaching, a supportive curricular structure and high quality pastoral care, any student can achieve skills and knowledge equipping them for the world of work and social responsibility.
